In the fall of 2005, Child Saving Institute created the Nebraska Heart Gallery to showcase older children available for adoption in the Omaha area. Child Saving Institute’s mission has always been “Responding to the cry of a child” and with your help, we continue to respond to the needs of older children and youth awaiting a safe, nurturing Forever Family.

Lakira is a fun loving girl that gets along with almost everyone she meets. She is a rule follower and does very well in school, but her favorite part is interacting with her friends. Lakira is a typical girly-girl who likes to shop and do her hair and nails. Lakira is described as having a care-free spirit. She enjoys drawing, going to the zoo, trying new food and journaling. Lakira is close with her siblings and loves to spend time with them. Lakira looks forward to having a family that will support her as she learns and grows.
